COVID-19: Pakistan's confirmed cases jumped to 54,601, recovery rate rose to 17,198

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 54,601 on Sunday after new infections were confirmed in the country.

The province-wise break up of the total number of cases are as follows:

Total confirmed cases: 54,601

• Sindh: 21,645

• Punjab: 19,557

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 7,685

• Balochistan: 3,306

• Islamabad Capital Territory: 1,592

• Gilgit-Baltistan: 619

• AJK: 197

Deaths: 1,133

• Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 389

• Sindh: 367

• Punjab: 332

• Balochistan: 39

• Gilgit-Baltistan: 4

• Islamabad Capital Territory: 14

• AJK: 1

Officials have recorded more than 5.25 million cases and more than 339,000 deaths since the virus emerged in China in December.
